They give you structure so that you stay grounded and help you focus on what’s most important. The structure of your morning routine should be focused on the things you want to accomplish before your day get’s started.

This helps ease your stress to increase your mental clarity. Follow these 5 simple steps and you’re ready to go!

1. It’s all about your night routine

Your night sets you up for your morning. Only getting 4-5 hours of sleep each night isn’t going to cut it. You’re more likely to snooze if this happens.

Take 15-30 minutes before you actually get into bed to wind down. Do your skincare routine, read a few pages of your favorite book, light your favorite candle and enjoy a cup of tea. These things are going to help relax your mind and body.

Reduce the amount of screen time right before bed. The bright light from your phone may be keeping you up longer than you think

Aim for 6-8 hours of sleep each night. This way you will wake up feeling energized and refreshed.

Reflect on your night routine and find things to ADD into your routine.

2. Give yourself extra time in the morning

Because it is the morning and somehow unexpected things always seem to come up, give yourself the extra time.

Maybe you’re trying to break the habit of hitting the snooze. Set your alarm clock 10-15 minutes ahead of time to give yourself time to get out of bed.

Extra time is always good right? This gives you a little wiggle room to get your important tasks done!

3. Schedule a morning workout

Morning movement is always a good idea. It gives you a boost of endorphins, relieves stress and helps you start your day on the right foot.

Heavy emphasis on schedule because it should take about 30 minutes to complete. That 30 minutes could be used for something else but you have to make the time.

When you block off time and you are aware of the specific tasks that need to get done you’re more likely to get those tasks need to get done in an efficient manner.

At home workouts are perfect in the morning because you don’t have to leave your house. Make a plan. Sweat it out for 30 minutes and get ready for the rest of your day.

4. Eat a nourishing breakfast

You know how your mom used to tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. She was right!

One of the best ways that you can set yourself up for a successful day is by eating a nourishing breakfast. It will fuel you for the day. It gives you energy and allows you to perform at your best level.

Make sure that you are getting a balance of protein, healthy carbs, healthy fats and veggies.

Breakfast ideas…

  • Eggs/egg white with peanut/almond butter toast

  • Egg omelette with avocado toast

  • Veggie scramble with oatmeal

  • Berry protein smoothie

5. Prioritize the important task

Get what you need to get done in the morning. Don’t push it off. Write it out. Make it plain and simple.

If you know you packed day ahead of you and you come home tired in the evenings, don’t push your important task off.

If you are a morning person, make sure you get the important tasks done while your mind is active.

Make a plan. Either the night before or the morning of, write out the things you need to get done so that you know what to get done!
